A Rising Film Evaporator (RFE) is a vertical shell and tube heat exchanger with a vapor – liquid separator mounted at the top.
The liquid to be concentrated is fed at the bottom of the heated tube bundle. As the liquid feed receives the heat, the vapors generated lift the liquid upwards and push it on the wall as a film. Falling Film Evaporator
As the name Falling Film Evaporator indicates the product is fed to the inside surface of a large number of tubes through which it passes downwards forming a thin film. Falling Film Evaporator steam enters the jacket surrounding the tubes and leaves at the bottom as condensate. The Falling Film Evaporator product inside the tubes boils, and the vapour accelerates to the bottom and separated in vapour separator.
As the entire system is working under Vacuum Evaporation, temperature is very low (below 100 Deg C) and thus the system can be applied for heat sensitive products.
